One Canadian man is navigating his way through a new country, and a new sound.
Alex Eastman moved to Murfreesboro, TN from Winnipeg, Canada to attend college at Middle Tennessee State University, where he majors in commercial songwriting. Eastman has been writing songs since he was a child and has been on a long musical journey trying different styles.
From playing classical guitar, to rapping, to country and gospel, Eastman has now refined his
sound and is happier than ever.

Citing influences in hip-hop, rock’n’roll, country, and gospel, Eastman focuses more on
songwriting than genre. He is vocal on the role that Christianity has played in his musical
journey, as well as his personal life. He plans to release more country and gospel inspired songs in the future.
MTN reporter, Trey Godsey, had the opportunity to speak with Alex Eastman to discuss his
evolving musical sound, his move to the United States, his obsession with the “Shrek” movie
soundtrack, and much more.
You can find Eastman’s music on streaming platforms under the name “Alex Eastman”.
