2024 was dominated by rap feuds and 2025 is starting off in the same way. Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar set the world ablaze with fiery disses that topped the charts in 2024. Three months into 2025, and the ladies are taking charge again with Bhad Bhabie and Alabama Barker’s intense feud taking over social media. Between the tweets, crass Instagram rants, and dropping diss tracks on one another, it can be hard to keep up. Leaving most people wondering: what started the beef in the first place?
Who are These Girls?
21-year-old Danielle Bregoli, better known as Bhad Bhabie, garnered international attention after screaming “catch me outside, how ‘bout that?” on the Dr. Phil show in 2016. After becoming a meme, Danielle quickly capitalized on her 15 minutes of fame and began releasing music under the moniker “Bhad Bhabie”. As an artist she has received gold and platinum certified singles, became the youngest female rapper to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 at 14-years-old, and was even nominated for “Top Rap Female Artist” at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards.
Alabama Barker is the 19-year-old daughter of Blink-182's drummer, Travis Barker. Alabama
began making a name for herself as an influencer on social media after her father married
Kourtney Kardashian in 2021. Alabama began releasing music in 2024 and has around 350,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
The pair seemingly started out as friends but have since fallen out and been engaged in back-and- forth callouts online.
What Started the Beef?
The intense feud began with Bhad Bhabie accusing Alabama of being involved with her
boyfriend, Le Vaughn. Bhabie and Le Vaughn welcomed a daughter in March of 2024 and have been dating since July 2020. The pair had allegedly been “off and on” since July 2024 after TMZ reported on a domestic dispute between the couple.
On Dec. 17, 2024, Bhabie took to her Instagram story to post “@AlabamaLuellaBarker took my man”. Alabama responded “#ew” in the comments of The Shade Room (who had reposted Bhad Bhabie’s original post).
Bhabie took to her Instagram story to double down claiming, “...I don’t have beef with no b*tch that look up to me...My only reason for coming on the internet with it is because I’m tired of her doing this to other girls...A man gonna be a man but a h*e that know about you and call you a friend is a whole different level of disrespect. Especially to a postpartum mom.”
On Dec. 19, Alabama clapped back with her own stories on Instagram claiming that Le Vaugn was the one who pursued her. On her story she wrote, “To put it simply, LV deceived me...[he claimed] that he was single...LV initiated frequent communication...I have apologized multiple times to Danielle, understanding that her partner misled me. LV has confessed his feelings for me repeatedly...I chose to disregard his advances. I have no interest in this man...Danielle, if you wish to address this maturely, please reach out to me directly.”
LV took to Instagram to personally address Alabama’s claims saying that she was lying to
protect her image, even sharing a picture of himself and Alabama cuddling on Oct. 17.
The Diss Tracks Begin...
Although Alabama put out her first song titled “Vogue” on Dec. 13, 2024, it had no mention of Bhad Bhabie. The first diss track titled “Over Cooked” was dropped by Bhad Bhabie on Jan. 10, 2025. On the song Bhabie accuses Alabama of being in love with Le Vaugn, only being famous because of her father, and that she had sexual relations with Tyga which resulted in a pregnancy.
Tyga and Alabama both quickly denied these claims with Tyga tweeting, “...I have never had
any sort of physical relationship with Alabama...”
After this, Alabama responded in a song titled “Cry Bhabie” released Feb. 7. In the song
Alabama alleges that she would beat Bhabie in a fight, that Le Vaugn still texts her, and that
Bhabie takes pills. Bhabie quickly began teasing her next song which would come on Feb. 24.
In a lethal diss track titled “Ms. Whitman”, Bhabie samples “CARNIVAL” by Kanye West & Ty
Dolla $ign. Even the title of the track is a savage diss towards Alabama. Documented in an
episode of Meet The Barkers, an MTV reality show centered around Travis and his ex-wife,
Travis explains the origins of Alabama’s name saying he named her after the lead character of his favorite movie, True Romance. In the 1993 Quentin Tarantino film, Alabama Whitman,
played by Patricia Arquette, is depicted as a female escort. The comparison sees Bhabie calling Alabama an escort. Furthermore, Bhabie accuses Alabama of aborting her prgenancy with Tyga, being sexually involved with multiple members of an NFL team, overdosing on a vape, and being kicked out of the Kardashian house.
Bhabie even took direct shots saying, “Damn Alabama. You a tramp, Alabama. Wave this Drac’ out the window, God’s plan, Alabama. Simon says stomp your feet, move your hands, Alabama. Bhabie says I’m up the street, like here I am, Alabama.”
The song was an immediate success, taking social media by storm and eclipsing the stats of “Cry Bhabie.” Countless viral tweets supporting Bhad Bhabie have gained hundreds of thousands of likes. In just a few days, the “Ms. Whitman” music video (which features a Travis Barker lookalike) has garnered over 8 million views on YouTube and has sat atop the “Trending Chart” since its release. The song has also continued to rise daily on the US Spotify chart.
What Now?
In the days following the release of “Ms. Whitman”, more drama has ensued.
Firstly, Kanye West gave a statement on his Instagram story clarifying that he is not involved in the beef after clearing the sample of his song. Bhad Bhabie posted a snippet of what appears to be West rapping on “Ms. Whitman” making fans think that there would be a remix. According to Kanye, Travis Barker called him and wanted to know why he was siding with Bhabie.
Kanye wrote, “I just got sent a song and asked if I could clear the sample. Only reason why I
clear anything is because so many people try to stop me, they stop clearances, and everything has been very difficult for me. So... I always clear it.”
Bhabie’s team replied in a statement to Newsweek saying, “The only thing that was officially
cleared by Kanye was the sample used in 'Ms. Whitman,' which she highly appreciated and never intended on taking any advantage of...we understand the speculation, but this situation was never something she had control over. Bhad Bhabie has always prioritized authenticity in her music and career, and this is no different.”
On March 1, 17-year-old Lil Tay, took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out Bhad Bhabie. Lil Tay
went viral in 2018 for being “the youngest flexer of the century” at just 9-years-old. After
disappearing from the internet for nearly 5 years, Tay returned in 2023 after her account was
hacked and a false statement claiming she died was posted.
Lil Tay has had previous run-ins with Bhad Bhabie. Back in 2018, Lil Tay (who was 9 at the
time) can be seen alongside her friend Woah Vicky arguing with and screaming at Bhad Bhabie.
Tay took to X to say, “@BhadBhabie for a b*tch who constantly hides behind a screen or a
bodyguard, you sure do have a lot to say on the internet, but got your a*s beat by Woah Vicky in your own studio, I’ll smack the sh*t outta you!”
In a video posted to X, Tay explains that this beef comes as a result to Bhad Bhabie replying to a previous tweet by Tay claiming that she would win a Grammy, saying, “Girl stfu”. In the same video, Tay alleges that Bhabie has been “ducking her since she was 9” and that Bhabie is secretly obsessed with her. She also extends an invite for her to join a livestream so they can talk about their issues.
In an alleged response posted to X, Bhabie simply quotes her own lyrics from “Ms. Whitman” saying, “I know your route, you’re reaching out, you need my name for clout.” In a follow up post, Bhabie assured fans she wasn’t “ducking” Tay and that she was trying to watch/join the livestream to no avail. She wrote, “I’m still tryna figure is this b*tch still loading or is her computer broke, Or you waiting on the pr stunt you pulled to be over.”
As for Alabama, she began teasing that she would have a reply. She reposted Lil Tay’s tweet
calling out Bhad Bhabie, as well as posted petty messages to her Instagram stories. One story read, “#LastLaugh #BeReady”.
The two don’t seem to be making amends anytime soon, and the internet is excited to see what happens next.
