By Kayla Walker MTN Sports Reporter March 10, 2021 The Blackman girls’ basketball team celebrated winning their first state tournament berth since 2015 after winning 52-45 against Stone Memorial in the Class AAA sectional last Saturday.
This accomplishment was nothing short than a reward for their tough and challenging season.
The Lady Blaze played through a season of changes. It's their first season with new head coach Jennifer Grandstaff. They also endured two COVID-19 quarantines along with a month layoff earlier in the season.
Blackman will play Thursday in the state quarterfinals at 7pm against Arlington at the Murphy Center.
