Lavergne High School Shooting Investigation

A 15-year-old boy fired shots after dismissal at La Vergne High School on Tuesday. The boy fired three rounds after the final bell rang only hitting a car, though several students were in the parking lot. The schools School Resource Officer immediately notified La Verne Police Department, who pulled over a car matching the suspect’s car description. The suspects were arrested and charged

with reckless endangerment.

The 18-year-old, Damondre Hayes, was taken to Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, and the 15-year-old was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. The La Vergne Police Department and Rutherford County Sheriff’s office are continuing to investigate motive and suspect connection.
