Manchester Fire Department initiates controlled burn

The Manchester Fire Department teamed up with a local property owner for a training exercise.

On Jan. 30, the department set ablaze a condemned property in order to simulate a realistic training.

Brendan Kelly offered up his property to the department in order to assist in the exercise. 

The Fire Department made sure that items that would release toxic gases would be removed from the building, such as siding and roofing items.

Coffee County EMS were present in case of any injuries during the training exercise.
