Murfreesboro, TN -- The MTSU softball team (15-16) is looking to end its 10-year losing streak to Marshall (11-4) this weekend. The Blue Raiders have lost the previous 17 games against Marshall dating back to February 25, 2011.
“We aren’t focused on the past… focused on what it takes to get this team better,” said head coach Jeff Breeden. “For the most part we would need pitching and defense on point, and more timely hitting."
This weekend could be a big weekend for the record books, as Summer Burgess is four games shy of holding MTSU’s all-time starts going into this series. MTSU is also two wins away from 700 all time and 250 at the Blue Raider Softball field.
The series begins Friday with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
