Gas prices in Tennessee have been on the rise for the past month, but prices remain substantially lower than they were at this time last year.
Prices are rising steadily, according to AAA, middle Tennessee is one of the most expensive regions along with Rutherford County's average price for regular unleaded being $3.509 as of February 14.
The lowest 10% of prices in the state are below $2.75 while the highest fall at $3.12 for regular unleaded.
Although these prices continue to rise, the average prices in Tennessee are still well below the nation's average, putting Tennessee as the sixteenth least expensive market for
fuel in the nation.
