Unemployment Rates Decline Across Tennessee

The State of Tennessee's unemployment rates are looking up as they are on their way down, in 90 out of 95 counties across the state.


The Department of Labor and Workforce Development reported that the unemployment rates in September were less than 5% in 90 counties, while the other five were above that mark. Clay County recorded the highest rate at 5.6%.

Tennessee has 15 counties that are classified as distressed and in those 15 counties, 12 of them saw a decrease in their unemployment.

Williamson and Sevier counties are at the top pf the list with the lowest rates in Tennessee at 2.3%, while Davidson, Cheatham, and Rutherford county come in a close second at 2.4%.
