Wilson County Schools will reinstate traditional in-person classes for pre-kindergarten through third-grade students on September 21.
This decision came after Wilson County School board members voted six to one to re-open their campuses for younger grades.
In July the board voted to keep Wilson County schools under a hybrid plan which includes a combination of online and in-person classes. This plan will last from August 3, through their fall break on October 5 through 9. Until further notice, students in grades 4 through 12 will stay with the hybrid plan.
Director of Schools Dr. Donna Wright will make the final decision of sending older students back to the traditional schedule at the next board meeting on October 5.
